HOUSE
Hospice House is a 28-bed, homelike inpatient facility for
Hospice Savannah patients unable to be safely or fully cared
for at home. Hospice House is used to provide patients with
expert care for pain control and symptom management, to offer
caregivers a place of respite, and to provide a place for
patients who may need the safety and security of short term
residence at Hospice House to ease their remaining weeks.
Originally built in 1992, in 2002, Hospice House underwent
a $5 million dollar renovation. The facility increased from
15 beds to 28 beds and doubled the square footage from 13,0000
sq. ft. to 26,000 sq ft. The new building includes a large
gazebo, meandering pond, indoor fountain and stained glass
window. Patients rooms are equipped with oxygen capabilities
and more space is available to meet the needs of visiting
families. |
