Yoga for Stress Management (75-90 minutes)
Some of us need to move our bodies to quiet our minds. If you are looking for a mindful movement practice that will soothe your nerves and stretch your body, this yoga class is for you! A certified yoga instructor will guide you through a series of poses designed to stretch and strengthen your body and leave you deeply relaxed. This course runs in 4-week cycles and is designed to incrementally teach you the foundations of a simple, but powerful yoga practice. No prior experience is necessary. Dress to move and stretch.
Quieting your Mind (60 – 75 minutes)
Stress can foster the “monkey mind” and generate negative thought patterns. In this class you will learn to focus your thoughts and quiet your mind through simple breathing, meditation, and guided relaxation practices. No prior experience is necessary. Dress comfortably- we will sitting and lying down.
Restorative Yoga and Deep Relaxation (75-90 minutes)
Restorative yoga is a gentle practice designed to stretch the body and promote relaxation. Most poses are done reclining on a mat using bolsters and blankets to comfortably support and stretch your body while soothing your nervous system. This class finishes with Yoga Nidra, which is an ancient practice designed to foster deep relaxation
Yoga Nidra is practiced in a comfortable lying-down position during which you are guided through a series of breathing exercises and visual imagery which occupy the mind and prevent if from becoming involved in the usual “chatter” that absorbs our ordinary consciousness. Within a short time, this practice encourages you to become submerged in a deeply relaxed state and drop into the silent space within. No prior experience is necessary. Dress to move and stretch.
