Kim Zielke, MD
Chief Medical Director for Hospice Savannah
Dr. Kim Zielke was born in Detroit, Michigan where she attended college and medical school. She completed a residency in internal medicine in Rochester, New York and it was during this time that she “ran into” some hospice nurses who took her under their wing and introduced her to end of life care.
After residency she moved to Midland, Michgan where she practiced internal medicine and geriatrics, while serving as the medical director for Mid-Michigan Hospice After five years she left her practice to focus on hospice work. In 2005, Dr. Zielke was introduced to mindfulness based meditation and eventually became a teacher of this technique.
She was recruited by Henry Ford Health System in Detroit and served as the hospice medical director there from 2014 until making the move to Savannah.
Dr. Zielke enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her two adult daughters.
