At Hospice Savannah, our mission is carried out by people who believe that every moment matters. While many of our team members work directly with patients, there are others behind the scenes ensuring that the heartbeat of our organization—our technology, our facilities, and our daily operations—never misses a beat.

It is with great pride that we announce Dallas Adams, our Manager of Information & Health Technology, as the recipient of the 2025 Lilac Award.

The Meaning of the Lilac Award

The Lilac Award is Hospice Savannah’s “Employee of the Year” honor. It was created to recognize the “unsung hero”—the full-time employee who best exemplifies our core values and goes above and beyond in service to our patients and staff.

The award was established to honor the legacy of Ira and Fran Cohen. Both Ira and Fran benefited from the services of Hospice Savannah, and they were the kind of people who took great joy in recognizing those who selflessly gave of themselves for the betterment of their community.

A Journey of Growth

Dallas’s story is a testament to the dedication he has for this organization. He began his journey with Hospice Savannah as a talented Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Over the years, he has grown into an exceptional IT and Operations manager, bridging the gap between clinical care and the technical infrastructure that makes that care possible.

As one colleague noted in his nomination:

“Dallas exemplifies the spirit of being a Hospice Savannah employee. He is always willing to help. His tech guidance never makes one feel stupid. He organizes so much of what our daily lives on the job need…tech, clean offices, buildings that work… and he does it without complaining.”

Going Above and Beyond

Beyond his technical expertise, Dallas played a pivotal role during the recent administrative move into the Demere Center for Living (DCL). He worked tirelessly to ensure that the needs of our Full Circle Grief Support team were met, making a complex transition much easier for everyone involved—all while keeping operational costs to a bare minimum.

His growth from a frontline caregiver to a leader in technology and operations warrants the highest recognition. Dallas doesn’t just fix computers or manage buildings; he ensures that our team has the tools and the environment they need to provide world-class care to our community.
