Jim-Chirbas-potJoin us this Thursday  at our  Hospice Savannah Art Gallery for the opening reception of  the Savannah Art Association’s Summer show. We have a strong variety of work from the 14 members representing the Association: Karen Borden, Jill Marcussen Buckner, Roberta Castor, James Chirbas, Len Ciliento, Jr., Mimi Diamond, Sue Gouse, Carolyne Graham, Chris Italiano, Peggy Lanahan, Becky Marcussen, Sharon McIntosh, Andrea Rountree, and Page Williams Smoak.

Founded in 1920 by Mrs. Mills B. Lane and other civic-minded artists, the Savannah Art Association originally met in the homes of its lady members and later at the Telfair Academy. It has the distinction of being one of the oldest, continuously active art organizations in the southeast. Past presidents have included such venerated artists as Ann Osteen, Sandy Branam, Jack Miller and the late Ray Ellis.

As always, a portion of sales will benefit our Daily Impact Fund, which supports programs and services receiving little or no compensation from fees or insurance. These include the pediatric hospice Butterfly Program; Full Circle bereavement support; Camp Aloha overnight camp for grieving children; The Steward Center for Palliative Care and the Steward Companion transitions program; Pet Peace of Mind®; the Allied Therapies of massage, music therapy and story keeping; the Honoring Veterans’ Initiative; and the community education and outreach programs freely offered to the community.

Again, the reception is this Thursday, July 24th  from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there!
