robbiesmithIt’s always such a joy and a privilege to work with families who have been touched by the work we do. One such family’s patriarch is Robert Smith who, together with many friends and relatives, annually celebrates the life of his son through the Robbie Smith Golf Outing. Robbie was a vibrant young man who lived life to the fullest. In 1992 he was diagnosed with a terminal brain cancer. For the last 15 months of his life he was under our care and died surrounded by family and friends one day shy of his 30th birthday.

Robert has generously named an Endowment Fund in Robbie’s memory and a golf outing is held each August to benefit our work. If you are a golfer, please consider joining us at The Club at Savannah Harbor on Saturday, August 23 at 9:00 a.m.  For more information on sponsorships or to pre-register, please call Terry Webb at 912.547.6811,  Steve Proper at 706.973.9080 or Kevin Ainsworth at 912.655.1933 or visit www.RobbieGolf.com. $100 per person includes lunch and prizes, and $120 per person additionally includes two Mulligans, a Tee buster on Hole 14, an Eagle putt on hole 7, and a chance to win a complimentary round of golf.

I will be there to support Robert, remember Robbie, and to cheer on our Hospice Savannah team. Won’t you join me?
